Park Hyatt Sydney

Definitely saving the best for last! My all time favourite hotel in Sydney has to be Park Hyatt Sydney. There, I said it. It’s official. After doing this job for six years, I can’t believe it took me this long to stay here. This hotel really takes the cake in absolutely everything. From the friendly staff and service, to the food, to the sweeping Harbour views, I’ve never felt more at home in such a luxurious and grand hotel. I’d say that this hotel is in my top five favourite hotels around the world – and we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels! … Although I may be biased as Sydney is my home, so I have a huge soft spot for this city.

We stayed at The Park Hyatt for four nights and had the best possible experience here. It was late May, and were blessed with wonderful blue skies everyday, as it was just before the wind chill came through. It was so nice to able to walk around in Summer dresses and truly see the city in all it’s glory. If you’re from Sydney you’ll know what I’m talking about. The weather in Sydney can be very temperamental, especially during the Autumn and Spring seasons. The forecast could be ‘Sunny’, but high winds mean “always carry a coat”. Or there could be light showers projected, but it ends up being on and off spontaneous rainfall. You never really know what to expect, but when the weather is good, it’s absolutely delightful, and that’s what we had for four consecutive days here. I couldn’t stop commenting on how great it was!

Park Hyatt Sydney is located at The Rocks, and is smack bangs across the water from The Sydney Opera House. It’s a really unique view, and there’s no other hotel in the city that offers this front on view of it. Many of the rooms offer a beautiful Harbour view. Just next to/behind the hotel you’ll find The Harbour Bridge. Some of the very special suites in the hotel, offer a view of view of both these icons Sydney monuments. And from the rooftop pool you are also able to see both! The hotel is very unique in it’s layout. As it can’t be too tall due to it’s location, it is instead very long. The hotel owns the pier which wraps around the hotel, which offer the most splendid sunrise/sunset views for everyone as it is open to the public. In recent years the hotel has undergone renovations, and a top fourth floor was added, which meant a brand new presidential suite was created. Although the Presidential Suite might set you back over $20K a night (eep), it truly is the best suite in all of Sydney! I can only imagine the views for the New Year’s celebrations.

The restaurant located on property is The Dining Room and you’ll be able to see below what we had here. It’s quite busy every night so bookings are essential, which only makes sense as the food is amazing. I can’t recommend this hotel more. If you are looking for something a little more luxurious and special during your stay in Sydney, this’ll be the place. And even for my fellow locals who might be reading, treat yourself!
