How To Do Colorful Eye Makeup For Summer

If there’s one type of makeup that we desperately want to try, it is hands down the bold colorful eye makeup. With the second drop of the Song of Style collection that features pieces in the beautiful icy blue, we were inspired to create an editorial with this bold blue eye makeup.

Photographer-turned makeup artist Sophia nailed it with not only the photos but also the eye makeup. She also recreated this look on Patricia from the SOS team. Watch the tutorial here to see two ways to get this look.

To create the beautiful blue eyelids, you basically need either a blue lipstick or a blue eyeshadow. Starting with priming the lids with the NYX eyeshadow base, apply a generous amount of blue eyeshadow from the NYX eyeshadow palette. Reapply as needed depending on how pigmented the product is and make sure to blend out the hard edges. For the glossy wet effect, you can use a lip gloss or a very hydrating lip balm. We used the Glossier Balm Dotcom to intensify the blue color for a more dramatic look. Gently tap a light layer of the lip balm onto the eyelids with your fingers and voila! There you have this super fun blue eye makeup look. Try this with other colors and match your makeup to your clothes.
