Get to know Published By: The new accessories brand dressing WGSN’s #FutureCommuter

Up-trending on our Fashion Feed since late 2018, WGSN’s #FutureCommuter trend is already emerging as a street style win – and we predict this aesthetic is set to soar.

This is a trend that plays into futuristic office-wear, hyper-functional design and those all-important utility details. The effect is a fresh take on streetwear, and as this look begins to hit down among early adopters, we’re on the eye out for new brands and emerging designers that tap into our appetite for all things #FutureCommuter.

Accessories provide a great entry point, and Fashion Feed Editors Polly Walters and Alice Gividen are calling out Published By, a new fashion house-to-watch that explores the relationship between traditional craft and future tech.

Founder Christoph Tsetinis, starting out as a carpenter, later moving on into fashion and accessory design. It’s something that’s evident in the abstract shape and form of the Published By Product. Hardware detailing, mirrored surfaces and harnesses all play into the hyper-functionality that resonates with a future commuter aesthetic.

There’s certainly a lot to be learned from Published By’s design aesthetics, but this is also a lesson in marketing fashion-forward product. “The brand is embracing the age of the digital avatar influencer, with product edited onto animated models,” says Trend Editor, Alice Gividen. “Not only is there real appetite for this content, it’s a sustainable way of building a lookbook, and means that the brand’s aesthetic isn’t constrained”.
