Checkerboard

Checkerboards are fast becoming the must-have print for summer and designers in London widened their appeal by choosing warped diagonal compositions and vibrant colours for lightweight knits.

Already cemented as the standout detail of the season, designers continued to use creative cutouts in off-kilter placements to subvert everything from feminine dresses to dramatic bodysuits.

Key accessory: abstract form

Love it or hate it, we’re seeing a resurgence in sculptural novelty bags that put the fun into fashion. Explore large-scale proportions and abstract forms, and consider cutting in 3D textural fabrics to add further dimension.
