7 Inspiring Individuals On What’s Keeping Them Positive and Hopeful

With the unlimited amount of information online, it’s easy to get overwhelmed during a pandemic. It is our responsibility to stay informed but we all need a good balance especially during this unprecedented time. We asked 7 inspiring people to share elements of their daily routine that are keeping them positive and hopeful.

“Sitting in my window at around 3:30 PM everyday when the sun shines on my building brings me pure joy. It’s a moment to relax, it’s a moment to feel the sun’s rays on my face which really energizes me. I might not be able to go outside but this time really lifts up my spirits.”

I never intended for this to “help” anyone but now that I’ve seen that I can contribute in any small way, it’s really humbling to know I can make someone else’s day a bit brighter just by being me!

“To be honest, making TikToks is really helping me stay positive right now; it’s pure joy and I have so much fun making them. If I’m able to spend 30 minutes a day to make a 15-second video that’s really fun and uplifting, it not only makes me happy, but I’ve learned it makes others happy too! I’ve been able to connect with people in a way that’s kind of indescribable. At first, I would make dumb and funny videos on TikTok for my own mental health, however, it turns out thousands of random people have been messaging me saying how much my little videos have brought happiness and joy into their lives and helps them get through these tough times, even if it’s only for 15 seconds. I never intended for this to “help” anyone but now that I’ve seen that I can contribute in any small way, it’s really humbling to know I can make someone else’s day a bit brighter just by being me!”

“I’ve found a silver lining of spending so much time at home is it’s a low-risk time to experiment with my hair routine. I’ve been aiming to perfect the art of the air dry (with a lot of help from the tips in this story). This clean leave-in conditioner has been crucial for smoothing frizz, and using my fancy pants Raincry brush makes the whole thing feel like a tiny joy.”

On week three, I had to find new reading nooks to keep it interesting.

“I am thankful for quarantine because it’s given me the opportunity to read again! I rarely had the time and patience anymore in my normal busy schedule. It feels good to center my myself again.”

Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.

“I just started The Five Minute Journal and already love it! Not only does it give me a moment to set my intentions for the day each morning, but allows me to reflect on my feelings and progress at the end of each day. My favorite part of this journal is the daily quotes. Today’s said: Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.

“One thing I’m doing to stay sane and entertained while at home is cooking even small things. Right now, I’m making croutons. I had a stale loaf of bread, so you just cut it up and toss in olive oil. One other thing is I put on jeans for the first time in three days!”
