happy iowa day~ i’ve had lot of reservations about using this platform to talk about politics. i often fear that my support for “radical” politics comes off as overtly zealous and naive, especially because you guys see this “glamorous” hypercapitalistic version of myself and many others here on IG. my truth is like so many of yours’: i’m young, self-employed, 100% financially independent, with no health insurance. i work hard and yet, i worry about my future and the future of many more vulnerable Americans than me. this is critical for our lives. as I grew to engage with @berniesanders’ campaign, the more I consciously choose to be an American citizen who ably participates in what may be the most critical election of our generation. and the more i recognize what a true grassroots movement this campaign is, centered around issues I care about the most—the environment, public health care, free education and the dismantling of corporate greed—the more i feel it is imperative to advocate. let’s recognize what a crazy moment this is for us to be able to vote for someone like Bernie Sanders — someone who cares about US!! he really does. seize this opportunity, talk with the people around you and PLEASE show up to VOTE. #?? #notmeus
