We Are Moving To LA
The difficult part about this move was that we couldn’t make any permanent decisions until our work visas were approved. That was definitely the most challenging experience out of everything but we knew that was also the most important thing to tackle. We set our minds to building the best visa application we possibly could and it finally paid off. The visa application is a true testament of all the work you have done this far in your career, in a way it kind of feels like we’ve been building this application since the start of our brands 7 years ago. It’s a tough process for Canadians and I won’t sugar coat it, it’s really not that easy but if you have a strong career and determination you can build a great case. After getting approved, the obstacles didn’t really stop but it sure did feel a whole lot better knowing we had the most important part completed.
Following all that, the last few weeks have been all about selling every piece of furniture, cleaning out every inch of our life, setting up bank accounts, trying to import a car and saying goodbye to loved ones. We are starting our new life with pretty much 4 suitcases and whatever else we could fit in Guillaume’s car. He decided it was best to drive his car to LA with a few of his friends, while I stay back, tie up any loose ends and fly out at the end of the week.
