The art of collaboration: Anthropologie teams up with British artists from Artfully Walls
Lifestyle retailer Anthropologie has announced its next London pop-up exhibition, opening this February – this time in collaboration with Artfully Walls. A curated online shopping destination for homeowners looking for original artwork, Artfully Walls brings quality artwork to the market for affordable solutions in an assortment of mediums. Artists from around the world are featured on their site.
For this exhibition, Anthropologie has picked five British artists to feature at Kings Road Gallery: Charlotte Ager, Charlotte Taylor, Francesca Iannaccone, Laura Gee and Rosie Harbottle.
Painterly artwork from Charlotte Ager, a freelance illustrator based in London, takes inspiration from places and emotions to create thought-provoking narratives in mixed mediums. Charlotte Taylor, a Fine Art and Design graduate, examines parallels of architectural shape, objects and space via digital photography and sculpture.
Laura Gee’s practice explores the idea that art, like nature, can have a positive effect on our wellbeing, and help to alleviate stress and anxiety. Her joyful and naive paintings are intended to inspire positive feelings and enhance wellbeing.
As walls become an increasingly important and observed part of interiors, wall art plays a key role in both personalising and styling private and commercial spaces.
Deciding what artwork to put on your wall can be daunting for consumers at times, and committing to a piece of art or photography can completely change the mood of a space. New apps are allowing users to visualise products in the home before committing, so that the decision-making process is made simpler. Artfully Walls’ iPhone app enables users to view how entire styled walls or individual pieces of art will look on their walls before purchasing. This ‘Try on Wall’ feature is rising for the online markets and offers an engaging experience to consumers, built around a more immersive and social shopping experience.
Anthropologie’s exhibition opens on 31st January and runs until Sunday 3rd March. To read more about personalised displays and wall art directions, WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors subscribers can click here.
