Colour of the month: Scorched Gold
Relating back to yellow, a colour hero of 2018 – Scorched Gold (16-1054 TCX) rounds out the year as our colour of the month.
Scorched Gold first appeared in our AW18/19 Colour Forecast – a strong base of yellow, with a small sprinkle of orange to carry the colour into the new year.
Its richness works well as a traditional winter tone within wools and knits, but this December sees the tone’s use being updated. The new angle is using it in fabrics that play with light, such as sequinned surfaces velvets and satins. This helps the colour develop into party wear – a great alternative to the classics reds and silvers for the holiday season.
To track Scorched Gold’s global appeal – particularly within summer apparel – we have seen this colour coming across at Sao Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil, and has been coming across strong at fashion weeks streets.

Scorched Gold elevates knitwear, and gives the winter streets a sunny update.
The catwalks prove that this shade works as well on party attire as it does traditional knitwear. See Prabal Garang’s pre-fall 2019 collection for inspiration.
Multiple categories across retail are getting the Scorched Gold update.
